1 small quiet somewhere - theme

  • Published:

A musical theme for 1 small quiet somewhere.

🎼 composer: Tara 'Eyre' Nelson

Loops for continuous enjoyment while you do whatever you may be doing (reading, writing, working on art, meditating, etc.)

Creation notes

"Resting in a well-loved Zen temple as autumn deepens, leaves periodically drifting from the trees."

  • Something meditative, contemplative, soothing.
  • A feeling of solitude, but not loneliness.
  • Exploring - experiencing - a place over a period of time.
  • Exploring doesn’t necessarily mean moving. It may be sitting, and experiencing that sitting, the passing of time, the seasons, and so on.
  • A comfortable and cozy ambience, but also a periodic sense of something very ancient.
  • A place for deep rest.

The cover art is rendered in fountain pen ink, selected for both colour and name association/meaning:

  • Troublemaker Petrichor - The pleasant smell after the first rain.
  • Lennon Tool Bar Muzha Tieguanyin - Muzha (former district in Taipei, Taiwan) Iron Guanyin. A tea named after Guanyin or Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva of compassion in Buddhism. This bodhisattva's name is literally "sound perceiver" or "one who perceives the cries of the world".
  • Kyo no Oto Yamabuki-iro - Colour of the Japanese kerria/rose. A golden flower whose name can be translated as "mountain breath".

Released on Yuanxiao Jie/the Lantern Festival, marking the 15th day and end of Lunar New Year celebrations.
